McCall – The McCall Mudhens and the Merrimack Owls look to settle the National League side of the Holiday Basseball League tonight as they play a best of seven series that will determine who will advance to the CHampionship round to be played in two weeks.
Separated by one game during the regular season, the Owls and Hens’ look to have a heated series as numbers can be used to argue either side will win. Offensively the Mudhens are clearly the better team, but in head-to-head matchups against the Merrimack pitching staff, McCalls hitters often fell flat. The Hens’ piled up 6 games with 14 or more runs scored with the Owls accomplishing this feat only 4 times.
Both teams have stressed a win in game one is of importance as there have been 6 three games sweeps during the regular season and the playoffs.
“Gotta get out there on the right foot. Set the tone early and keep the pressure on, especially at their place,” Owls manager Ed Bailey said.
