Stadium Tour: Macintosh Stadium @ Fogelberg

Fun Fact

All Star Baseball has been honored as one of the fifty most influential American board games of all time. This version of the game was released in 1955.

All-Star Baseball ClassicFogelberg – Macintosh Stadium, or ‘The Mac’ is the final stop on our tour of fields that will be used in The All-Star Baseball Classic. Home to The Fogelberg Falcons, The Mac was designed by Cadaco in 1955 and was the stadium that my father played the game with my Uncle and I played with my Brother. Ryan and I started playing religiously on this stadium ten years ago when the Fogelberg Falcons and McCall Mudhens were developed.

I have added a bit of “flair” through the years to nerd it up a bit, but the basic structure of the stadium is the Cadaco design. Added features include a “Macintosh Stadium” centerpiece, a championship banner holder, lifetime player bunting, and a statue of lifetime player Don Mattingly beyond the center field wall.

A tradition of the Classic has been developed to use this stadium in the Championship rounds on Tournament Sunday. It is only fitting that the birthplace of the modern age host the Championship every year.

Good luck in your quest to “Make it to The Mac” on Sunday!

About Joe

I have been playing Cadaco All Star Baseball since before I knew what numbers were! ... After creating hundreds of discs, several original designs for stadiums and helping to brainstorm goofy additions to the game, I would LOVE to hear what YOU are doing with the game. My hope is to build a long lasting web community with a growing set of cool online ASB features!
