Westport – Energy, or a lack of it seemed present as the Westport Fleas and the Fogelberg Falcons squared off in a rare inter league match-up. Coming off tense meetings with arch rivals in previous weeks, there seemed to be a lack of punch by both teams. Even the public address man Buster Kirby was reported as falling asleep during the third game.
“I did not fall asleep during the game,” Kirby said with red cheeks. “It was a really boring night of ball, but I did not sleep.”
Winning games 1 and 4 of the set, the Falcons staved off virtual elimination from the playoffs and game themselves a shot in the American League.
