Merrimack – The Merrimack Owls took command of the Kansas City Baseball League Wednesday night by defeating the Boggstown Boilers in three of four games during interleague play.
Taking games 1, 3 & 4, the Owls record now stands at 6-2 with three quarters of their season completed.
“Tonight, we had some of the most incredible pitching I have ever seen,” resurgent Owls lifetimer Dale Murphy said from his locker Wednesday night. “From the first inning to the last, these guys sat together and concentrated on how to get the big outs when they needed them … We hit just enough to win some games.”
Interleague play wraps-up next week with the Fogelberg Falcons facing the Westport Fleas as the playoff picture will get more clear with each passing game.
